Milton and the Flintstones

The thought is not original - it comes from Armando Iannucci - but deserves spreading about. The opening line from Milton's Paradise Lost 'Of man's first disobedience and the fruit of that forbidden tree...' rhymes with the theme tune to the Flintstones. Okay the first sentence is 16 lines long but that's the first bit and it rhymes perfectly.

Thought you should all know ;)

Fascinating. I just love these nuggets.

I remember when I realized why the song Buffalo Soldier (Bob Marley) was so familiar to me... The yoi yoi yoi refrain part of it was also part of a theme song from a popular children's show when I was little called The Banana Splits. Somehow neither song was quite the same after that.

Yes Petit fleur, Marley did sample from the Splits. And the Dickies do a kick ass 3x as fast version of the Splits theme. Loved that show. Fleegle. Bingo. Drooper and Snork. Tra la la, la la la la

Jojo,

Damn! You have a great memory! Thanks for the 411. I used to work at this bar and when we were bored we would come up with these insane debates/question for staff and customers alike... One was about who came up with was who stole from who Splits or Marley? Another was if you could do any cartoon character who would it be and why... Some of those answers were more than a trifle disturbing. Anyway, thanks for letting me know about the Dickies!!
