Not yer rock and roll 7

Here's the incredibly violent French revolutionary song Ça ira. Not unreasonably, it's all about stringing up aristocrats. the Youtube clip doesn't actually say who the singer is but it has to be Edith Piaf. Surely?

I'd like to dedicate this to that little numpty 'Prince' Harry.

Ça ira Ça ira Ça ira...

On a completely different note, the occasional TV advert achieves cult status. This seems to have happened with an advert for a certain UK chocolate manufacturer. Yes, it is funny. take a peek...

Edith Piaf indeed. I still have her on my ipod for feck sake. I must ask my bairns to get that off for me.

The Cadburys advert is a cracker. The only thing is that you try and follow it yourself. My head still hurts.

My Dear Rabbit,

I simply cannot HACK the Cadbury's Ad , since it reminds me of the 'Midwich Cuckoos' and consequently gives me the creeps! Its as bad as the Vison Express Eyeball Ad!
What ARE these Ad Agency Bods Smoking these days?!?!

and in a nice piece of circularity the immortal piaf is currently in a specsavers advert (not a very good one). it means my children (6 & 3)now yell 'edith piaf' every time she's on. this may be a dubious honour as they also yell 'bill oddie' at random times of the day having been bombarded with him on spring/autumn/winter/fridaywatch last year...

and if the current co-op ad with a million locations and original dylan 'blowin in the wind' is anything to go by, some agencies can afford to smoke what the fuck they like. my partner (formerly in the business) collapsed muttering about the budget fully 15 seconds into the ad: 'glur stock footage?' was all i heard as she hit the floor.
you really needed to know that.

Jimmy - I think Edith Piaf was quality, mind you I like that old French stuff - unlike the contemporary dross. One day I will do a 'why continental European pop is crap' posting...

Minx - I've told you before...

MORE TOBACCO WITH IT!!!

SW - I surely needed to know that. trust your partner has got up again after recovering from the shock by now...
