Niqabs, hotpants and lips that touch liquor...

A flying visit by the rabbit as he catches breath during a brief respite from charging up and down the country. The above clip - with Hat Tip to M - shows two young women protesting against the French ban on the wearing of the niqab in public places by wandering about wearing niqabs and - erm - some very short pants and that's about it. I'm with the young women here. Though I can't imagine why anyone would want to wear the niqab, it seems to be me to be absolutely none of the state's business if women choose to do so of their own free will. Okay, being coerced to do so is wrong too but two wrongs don't make a right.

As an extra treat before more substantial postings are resumed here - compliments of Mahal to whom Hat Tip - are a fine looking body of women. And not a niqab in sight. The one front inside right looks as if she is puckering up for a snog, though. Maybe she doesn't care.

Dear me, it's not nice is it?

It's a movie still, my friend, from an anti-temperance movie made around the turn of the century. http://www.nps.gov/archive/edis/edisonia/23400000.htm

And here's one for your files: The City of SF is poised to enact a new law that no more toys can be put in children's fast food meals if the meal is over 600 calories and doesn't contain at least 1 or 2 servings of fruit/veggies. So say goodbye to the Happy Meal in SF.

I love my adopted city and all, but give me a break. It's good to know that Bay View/Hunters Point and the Tenderloin are now crime free so that they can now tackle those evil Happy Meals.

I really couldn't care less about Happy Meals and how fast food places market to children (not losing any sleep over them having to add apples to them or whatever), but I don't think the same people that pass ordinances are responsible for actually stopping crime. Just sayin'.

From personal experience, I love kissing drunk men. ;D

Weren't substances such as opium, cannibis, cocaine and so forth legal in those days?

I think the ladies have been on a laudanum bender.

My point, downtown guy, is that the SF Board of Supes could be passing measures & ordinances that ensure the safety of the citizens from crime, or increasing the budget for the SFPD, not dictating to parents what they should or shouldn't feed their kids.

The Photo Suggests To Me That The Biggest Problem With The Niqab Is That The Wrong People Wear Them......

Are they women or men in drag in the anti-liquor photo? Egads.

Hank - thanks for info the infamous pic is a film still. I didn't know that but did think it doesn't look quite right. I had wondered if it was an early examople of photoshopping.

Hank/JoJo - Ermmm....

I don't quite know what to say except that when it comes to junk food my libertarian instincts go out of the window.

Catchy - I'll drink to that ;)

Laci - Several of them do look pretty - erm - monged now you come to mention it. Nice word, monged - I checked it on urban dictionary and got the following (among other stuff) -

Monged - the result of several hours of steady smoking, characterised by inability to move from the sofa.
I was monged out last night after that weed

Tony - Indeed. Keep 'em confused I always say.

Sybil/Little Flower - We do our humble best :D

Maven - The men in drag look appears to have been startlingly popular back then.

I don't see any lips there I'd want to touch, even blind drunk.
