nudge wink...

I'm off on one of Branson's trains later today for a bit of yer long distance criminal defence so, linking yesterday's blog with altered sign on London Underground and train travel, here's the infamous sign on the platform at Penrith railway station for readers' delectation.
Just one thing: this sign is not the act of some unofficial ironist. It's for real, genuine, official. Strange nobody spotted the innuendo!

Fnaa fnaa! I love signage humour!

I can't find the photo at the moment, but one of my faves is a sign I saw in the town square in High Wycombe. It read thusly:

"It is an offence to urinate or defecate (my italics) in this area. Max fine £500".

Must be a rough old town, High Wycombe....

Okay okay Ron! I know it's an oldie - a mate of mine claims to have taken it but he's full of bull so I'm not so sure.

At least my version didn't embarrass an innocent member of the public who just happened to be wandering in front of it at the wrong moment ;-)
