This is a meat rabbit thas has fallen off the side of a lorry transporting rabbits for the meat industry. I have seen also one such Belgian Giant sitting on the side of a layby on the A1 waiting for the inevitable. The poor little sods can't feed for themselves and haven't the nous to take a break and run for it as they don't know any different.
Sounds like something right out of Hot Fuzz.
